A healthy heart is the key to a healthier lifestyle. By monitoring your heart rate during exercise or at any time during the day, you'll know how much to increase or decrease your activity level or when to take a moment and simply relax. Fortunately, the Mio Breeze heart rate monitor watch makes it easier than ever to keep your heart in topnotch condition, with a straightforward user interface--the watch couldn't be easier to set up--and the user-accessible battery hatch (no tools required). Best of all, you don't need to use a chest strap to receive a highly accurate ECG heart rate. Simply apply two fingers to the watch for a few seconds, and then look at the easy-to-read display. The watch will not only tell track your personalized heart rate, but also your percentage of maximum heart rate and your exertion level. In addition, the watch offers a pair of exercise timers: one that counts up and one that counts down.
About Mio The story of Mio began in 1999 when it was created by entrepreneur and mother of three, Liz Dickinson. Like many of us, Liz balances family and career, leaving little time for fitness. After several unsuccessful attempts to achieve her fitness goals and shed the pregnancy weight-gain of her third child, Liz turned to a personal trainer for advice. While working with a trainer, Liz realized the key to getting in shape and staying in shape is to practice smart eating habits, monitoring calorie intake, and using a heart rate monitor to ensure that she exercises at the right level. Liz realized there wasn't a product available on the market that would easily help her follow her trainer’s advice.
Liz didn't have time to read labels and carry a calorie journal in her purse, nor did she have much patience for the uncomfortable chest strap she had to wear to get her heart rate. She knew there had to be a better way, so Liz used her technology and marketing savvy to create Mio, the world’s first heart rate monitor to work without a chest strap. And, it didn't stop with just heart rate, as Mio also has a patented calorie management system that offers a straightforward approach to managing your diet. With the help of Mio and a balanced diet, Liz was able to shed those unwanted pounds and gain the benefits that come with improved fitness: more energy, more vitality, and less stress, and help many others do the same with the creation of Mio's products.

Get rid of those bulky, uncomfortable chest straps! We finally have a way to determine our heart rate that is quick, easy and portable. This wristwatch lets you find out your current heart rate with just a quick two-finger push.
The watch is a *little* bigger than a normal wrist watch, so I wouldn't wear this to an elegant dinner. Still, wearing it most other places seems quite fine. It has normal date and time functions, so it fully replaces my normal "sports watch" I would wear.
For the heart rate test, it is very easy. You are wearing the watch on one arm - let's say your left arm. So then you would take two fingers from your right hand and press them against the two silvery buttons on the watch's top face. You hold it there for about 5 seconds, and then the system shows you your heart rate.
Also, because you input your weight into it, and your age, it knows your ideal heart rate and shows you the current one as a percentage of your total. So you...Read more

Started running and was concerned about keeping my heart rate in my target zone so I decided to purchase a watch with a heart rate monitor. The Mio Breeze works great, allows me to pace myself to stay in the zone and to check my recovery time after a hill or sprint. Once in a while it fails to give me a reading, may be due to lack of moisture between watch and wrist or poor contact. The stop watch feature is easy to use and is handy to check times along routes and to see times per mile.
I like the styling even though it is a little larger than I am accustomed to. The numbers are large and bright enough to make them easily to read.

While the band has notches to fit a small wrist, this watch face is waaaaaaaay too big for a smaller wrist. Unless you have a "large-ish" wrist you will want to return it and then waste the money paying shipping both ways.
You should go with the Mio Classic. The Mio Classic is really a great alternative and has almost all the features of this Mio Breeze.
I bought a Mio Classic after returning the Mio Breeze and I use it everyday and love it. This was a year ago and I am still happy with the MIO CLASSIC.
